The Phillips Family Stories

Family and friends,

I have added this page to include stories in my ever changing, ever growing web site about our family. I will add stories that have been included in ancestry.com and stories that are from reliable sources and that person's name will be disclosed. If you have a story you would like to have added please e-mail me at mphillips51@kc.rr.com    Stories selected will be at my discretion.                                                                                                                                            Rhonda Peters-Phillips      web site owner

This is taken from the story on Hathcock family history that is already attached to this person's Ancestry.com page:

An Obituary has not been found on Benjamin Hathcock, but is is known that he died at the home of his grandson Lloyd Hathock (the son of Benjamin's daughter, Sally).  Benjamin is probably buried in the Hathcock Family Cemetery, located on highway 1227, on the east side just before crossing Stoney Run Creek, going toward Red Cross, in Stanly County, NC. In this cemetery are at least fourteen graves, ten of which are unmarked,  The marked graves are Benjamin's grandson, Lloyd Hathcock, his wife Mary ( the daughter of James Hathcock,  son of Benjamin)and the graves of Lloyd's daughter, Melinda C Hathcock.  Revis D Hatchock , grandson of Benjamin  and son of Green Lloyd and Melinda White Hathcock.  It is speculated that one of the unmarked grave sites is that of Benjamin since he lived with Loyd from at least 1840 until his death in 1857.
